October is National Physical Therapy Month

Every October we celebrate National Physical Therapy Month, an annual opportunity to raise awareness about the benefits of physical therapy. Physical therapy is a safe and effective alternative to medication for the treatment of pain. Most recently, health experts are looking to physical therapy as an important alternative to opioids for pain management. It also can help recover from injuries, prevent falls, and maintain overall health.

As Prime Rehabilitation Services celebrates PT month, we would like to honor each and every one of our dedicated, highly trained Physical Therapists and Physical Therapist Assistants by highlighting what inspired each to become a therapist.

We are pleased to present a few team members from our New York skilled nursing facility whom we are honored to provide skilled services for over 10 years.

Judy Spafford at PT for 33 years.  I am inspired by my mother who is a nurse. She worked up until the age of 83 and never would admit her age to her patients because she was often older than them and still physically able to work.

Doreen Rooney a PTA for 30 years. She is inspired by patients who are able to see beyond their own disability or limitations to encourage and support others.

Rommel Guanzon a PT in the US for 9 years. He is inspired by knowing when he wakes up in the morning that he can make a difference in someone else’s life.

So thank you! To all of our highly trained PTs and PTAs, providing skilled care patient-centered treatments that enrich the lives of others, we say thank you.

Happy PT Month!
