This weekend, many will be observing Good Friday, Easter, as well as Passover. Passover and Easter are inextricably linked — both in the time of year when they occur and in their underlying messages of liberation and hope.
Passover marks the biblical story of Exodus, of the Jews and their leader, Moses, fleeing slavery in Egypt with the help of divine intervention.
Easter, widely considered the most important day of the Christian calendar, commemorates the resurrection of Jesus as told in the Gospels of the New Testament.
Christianity and Judaism share many of the same values, but the most important one is a love for freedom.
- Freedom to live wherever we want
- Freedom of self-expression, whether it be hair, makeup, body art, etc.
- Freedom to travel
- Freedom to worship however we want
May this holiday weekend find you and yours surrounded by family and friends honoring and spreading the freedom bestowed upon us.
